The restoration and refurbishment of the iconic 1950s Race Control Tower at Goodwood continued the long-running association PT Projects has with the Goodwood Estate.
The refurbishment included new hospitality areas, race control centre, rooftop viewing facilities on the terrace, upgrading the mechanical and electrical services throughout, and a new commercial kitchen. Significant structural steelwork was required to re-support the walls, ceilings and the roof structures of the buildings, as well as internal decoration and joinery.
The interior was transformed to a contemporary area with some particular features to embody the history of the tower, in particular the large sliding door, panelled in aluminium and bearing the names of the 200 club and International level drivers who raced at Goodwood between 1948 and 1966.
The Race Control Tower, which overlooks the pit straight, now plays host to driver briefings, the Credit Suisse Historic Racing forum as well as VIP events.
