Refurbishment of complete hotel including all bedrooms and public areas plus the provision of a new visitor centre/exhibition and a landscaped courtyard.
The hotel had stood on this Suffolk Coastal town since the 17th Century. Ale has been brewed here for 650 years and this site forms the heart of Adnans Coastal Campus Brewery and distillery. Occupying a Georgian building in Southwold, strolling distance to the beach, this re-vamped hotel combines brewing heritage with nautical references and modern, unique and quirky interiors.
Since the completion of work this hotel regularly features in ‘best of’ travel guides including The Telegraph, Times, Lonely Planet and the like.
Our view
The refurbishment changed the hotel from its tired and under-performing condition into a vibrant new venue and focus for the centre of Southwold
